Wampum

If you've ever been walking along the beaches on the northeast coast of the US and notice shells with bits of dark and light purple running through them, chances are you're seeing the Northern Quahog, or Wampum. What you may not know is Wampum are the beads made from the Northern Quahog shell which were used as a form of currency and for some Native Northeastern nations still has ceremonial & traditional uses.

I've always been fascinated by the purple tones in these beautiful shells and wanted to honor that Native tradition and translate that into a beautiful yarn colorway.
